How Badgerland Was Born

Owner AJ Stoffels spent his early years working all across the U.S. building roofs. But in 2009 things began to change. He saw common gaps between what customers were saying they wanted, and what roofing companies were delivering on a national scale. He decided then and there to be a force for positive change. Badgerland Exteriors was created in Sauk City, and has been serving customers faithfully for over a decade.

Owner

AJ Stoffels was born and raised in Sauk City, Wisconsin. He values his family, friends, and the relationships he has built over the years growing up in his home state. From an early age, AJ's grandfather Albert and his mother and father each had their own businesses in different industries. He watched and learned from their hard work and attention to detail and now applies that to his company. AJ's family has been in business in Wisconsin for over 35 years and pride themselves on their integrity! AJ looks forward to continuing this tradition of excellence for many years to come.

Jeremy has been part of the Badgerland Team since we opened our first office. He began working full-time with us while he was still studying business at Lakeland College. In addition to being part owner, Jeremy is our General Manager. He organizes the team by scheduling each project, ordering materials, and coordinating labor. Jeremy can also be seen at sales appointments or installing with the rest of our production team. Outside of work with Badgerland Exteriors, Jeremy enjoys spending time with his family. He also enjoys boating, hunting and baseball.

Lindsay started with Badgerland Exteriors in 2024 after years in business and finance consulting. Outside of work, Lindsay enjoys spending time with family, the outdoors, and good food.

Steph has been part of the Badgerland Exteriors team since 2018 after years in management and coaching roles. She has enjoyed new challenges with Badgerland Exteriors as she works to build our online and local presence as well as build the new Badgerland Solar brand. Outside of work at Badgerland Exteriors, Steph enjoys fitness, reading, and her pets. She also loves spending time with her partner and close friends.

I have spent the past two years developing residential solar proposals, and I'm thrilled to be part of Badgerland Exteriors, where I can blend my roofing expertise with my solar experience. Before entering the solar industry, I served as General Manager for the Madison Mallards, where I learned that a business’s success begins and ends with customer service. I joined Badgerland Exteriors and Solar in March 2024 and work with customers on their solar projects from sales and design to installation. I’m committed to meeting customer goals and exceeding expectations throughout the entire process, while also collaborating with ownership to set and achieve company benchmarks. By the end of 2024, I will be NABCEP certified. I truly enjoy connecting with homeowners about solar energy and helping them make a positive environmental impact while saving money. As a personable guy, I value getting to know my customers—and who knows, I might find some new golfing buddies! Outside of work, I spend most of my time with my wife Veronica and our three young children, enjoying various activities around Dane County. We also love our time at Bishops Bay Country Club, where I indulge in my passion for golf, socializing, and relaxing by the pool.

Aaron started with Badgerland Exteriors in 2021 on our sales team. He enjoys the variety of tasks that each day brings from building relationships with new customers to visiting job sites and making sure everything is running smoothly. Prior to working at Badgerland Exteriors, Aaron worked in the marketing field, so he believes communication is the most important part of working with each client. Outside of work, Aaron enjoys spending time with his wife and son. He also likes spending time on the golf course, enjoying bonfires in his backyard, and being outdoors (boating, hiking, biking, etc).

Rob began working with Badgerland Exteriors in 2017 after years of experience in the roofing and drywalling fields. He enjoys the company's atmosphere, team, and flexibility. His experience and strong problem solving skills have been assets to the team. You will find Rob working alongside our installers, running job sites, and diagnosing roofing issues when customers have repair needs. When Rob is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, hanging out on his boat, or at the shooting range.

Our team attended the Community Associations Institute (CAI) Wisconsin Chapter Annual Conference last month, and we spent the day listening to property managers, board members, and industry partners talk about what matters most when working with contractors.

A few things we heard again and again:

• Communication and collaboration matter.
• Associations want contractors who can handle the scale of the work.
• Board members take their roles seriously and want partners they can trust.

We also had some great conversations about solar and how rising utility costs may start shaping future decisions for multi-family communities.

Events like this help us better understand how associations operate so we can show up as better partners.
