Windows Photo Album: New Roof, Siding, and Windows in Downtown Madison, WI

A challenge of buying an older home can be the materials used at the time of construction. This Madison home was built when asbestos siding was the material of choice. Asbestos siding has been found to be dangerous, and it does not last. This requires special care upon removal. This home was also in need of new, more efficient windows and a new roof. A full exterior renovation was needed at this property. A company certified in asbestos removal was hired to take off the old siding down to the original sheathing. Insulation boards and Tyvek were installed underneath thew new Mastic Ovation vinyl siding. New Vector windows were installed which were much more energy-efficient. The old 3-tab roof was removed, and a new shingled roof was installed. This home has a brand new exterior that will be worry-free for years to come!
